Fortunate Ones is Newfoundland indie folk duo Catherine Allan and Andrew James O’Brien. Known for dynamic live performances, effortless union of voices in harmony, and anthemic melodies – they embody a wide-eyed energy, deliver messages of reflection and optimism, have an earnest mission for connection, and are endearing audiences across Canada and beyond. Beloved writer-artist, Sarah Siskind’s songs have been recorded by Alison Krauss, Wynonna Judd, and performed by Bon Iver, Bonnie Raitt and appear prominently in film and television. She wrote over 20 songs for the hit tv series Nashville, including well-known anthemic songs “Sanctuary” and “A Live That’s Good.” Her forthcoming album “Modern Appalachia” explores her North Carolina roots, and the way she sees how Appalachian music has influence far-reaching geographically and sonically.
